Braised Chicken With Shallots

Braised Chicken With Shallots

Another easy peasy braised chicken recipe. This one used a whole lot of shallots which lend a sweet caramelised taste to the gravy.

Braised Chicken With Shallots

2 pieces chicken thigh, cut into pieces
200g shallots, skin removed
a thumbsized ginger, sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
150 ml water

(A)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
salt to taste
1/2 tsp sugar

Fry shallots in some oil till browned before adding ginger and garlic. Stir till fragrant. Add in chicken pieces. Cook chicken till brown. Add water and (A). Cover with a lid and lower the heat. Braised chicken till softens and the sauce thicken. Dish up and serve hot with rice.
